ILCA UK is running a series of Regional Training weekends across the North, Midlands, East/South East and South/South West throughout the autumn / winter season 26-27. This is the South/South West page.

Open to ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 sailors of all ages, the programme provides an opportunity to develop racing and technical skills alongside other sailors from your region, supported by exceptional and highly experienced ILCA coaches, at some fantastic venues.

Whether you're progressing from a junior class, transitioning rigs or looking to improve your results at club, regional or national level, Regional Training is designed to support your development.

The format will be 6 weekends from September to February, with rigs training together or separately depending on numbers, including on-water drills, race training, and video analysis debriefs.

The flexible pay-as-you-go format means you can pick and choose which weekends work best around your own sailing calendar. We'd encourage you to book early where possible, as having numbers confirmed in advance helps us plan the coaching team and means we can get more sailors on the water training together.

There's no selection or qualification process — however, sailors are expected to be regular club racers at a minimum. They should be competent sailing in strong winds and comfortable managing full days afloat in cold/inclement weather.

You must be an ILCA UK Member to participate in this event (Membership info and how to join). Places are limited to a group of eight sailors, with a waiting list available. Additional coaches and groups can be added, so please join the waiting list if the session is full. We ideally need a minimum of six sailors for each group to run.

Weather dependent: we recommend booking flexible or moveable travel and accommodation wherever possible. We may also require 1 safety-crew support per coach boat.

A current ILCA UK membership is required to participate in the training and purchase this ticket.
The training will only proceed if a minimum of six sailors are registered.

Cancellation fees apply in accordance with the Training Events Terms & Conditions.
If you join the waiting list, we will contact you once we are confident that a place can be offered.
It is the participant’s responsibility to declare any medical or dietary information that may affect their ability to participate at the time of booking.
