ILCA Skills Week - WPNSA
ILCA Skills Week - WPNSA
Our aims for the week are:
- Support sailors transitioning into the ILCA from another class.
- Support and develop sailors moving between/new to ILCA rigs
- Offer an opportunity to train at a world class venue with fantastic coaches to all class members, of any experience, any ability and any age!
The training is Monday to Friday at WPNSA and offers a huge amount of flexibility in the schedule. As always, boat speed will be a large area of focus, along with advanced rigging and tuning, boat handling and racing. With five days of training, this offers a unique and great opportunity to embed new skills and techniques rather than talk and start the development phase that may happen at training weekends.
All coaches are ILCA specialists and work within the RYA and/or UKLA system at a high level. Their sailing skills are matched by their sparkling personalities which makes the learning a whole lot of fun! Sailors will be grouped by ability.
We will also have one social evening and one evening of Team Racing.
Some important logistical information on ticket release:
- You must be a UKLA member to book and participate.
- 85 places will be released on the UKLA portal on Tuesday 9th April 2024 at 6pm available to any UKLA member on first come first serve basis.
- If you missed out on one of the 85 slots, you can add your name to the waiting list.
- Being on a waiting list DOES NOT guarantee you a place.
Additional tickets are also being reserved specifically for transition sailors. A
TRANSITION sailor is a sailor of any age who has not previously participated in a UKLA training event or UKLA regatta such as the Nationals/Inlands/Qualifiers/Youth Winters (at the time of booking).
