ILCA Skills Week 2026 - WPNSA
Bookings open Monday 1 June | 7 pm - you must be an ILCA UK member to participate in the event
Please select your ticket carefully when booking, choosing from: ILCA 4, ILCA 6, ILCA 7 or Over 18s & MASTERS. Transition sailors are very welcome — please make sure to book a ticket for the rig your sailor will train in, and include details of your current transition stage and ILCA experience when prompted during the booking process. i.e. if your sailor is currently in an ILCA 4, but will train in an ILCA 6 during Skills Week, book an ILCA 6 ticket. If tickets sell out, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Please do join the waiting list, as we'll endeavour to offer as many additional places as possible. If you're not a member, you can join here.
Join us at the world-class Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy for five action-packed days of sailing, learning and fun at ILCA Skills Week 2026!
Whether you're:
- transitioning into ILCA from another class,
- moving between ILCA rigs, or
- looking to sharpen your racing and boat speed,
Skills Week offers an incredible opportunity to train with some of the very best ILCA coaches in the UK.
Designed for sailors of all ages with at least club racing experience, the week focuses heavily on:
- Boat speed
- Advanced rigging & tuning
- Boat handling
- Racing skills & tactics
With five consecutive days on the water, sailors have the chance to properly embed new techniques and make real progress. Sailors will be grouped by ability to ensure the best learning environment for everyone.
Our coaching team is made up entirely of experienced ILCA specialists working within the RYA and/or ILCA UK systems at a high level. Alongside exceptional coaching, they bring huge energy, personality and enthusiasm to create a brilliant atmosphere both on and off the water.
And it's not just about training…
- One social evening
- One evening of Team Racing
- A fantastic week spent with the ILCA community
Five days. World-class venue. Top coaches. Huge fun. Massive learning opportunity.
We can't wait to see you there!
Ticket Information
This year we have four ticket types available to ILCA UK members. These represent the groups that will be formed during Skills Week and therefore please choose the rig that your sailor will train in, i.e. if you are currently an ILCA 4 sailor and will be training in an ILCA 6 during Skills Week, book an ILCA 6 ticket:
- ILCA 4
- ILCA 6
- ILCA 7
- OVER 18s & MASTERS (mixed rigs) - for sailors aged 18+ that would like to train in an adults-only group
Ticket categories (ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7) will be grouped based on sailor ability and applications received, and may therefore include a mixture of U18 and 18+ sailors.
Please ensure you select the correct ticket type when booking, as changes are subject to availability. If you book an ILCA 4, 6 or 7 ticket, it may not be possible to change rigs during the event due to coach-to-sailor ratios and group planning. If you wish to change rigs before the changes cut-off date of 12 August 2026 at 23:59, please email training.office@ilca.uk. Any requested changes will be subject to availability. If you need to make a change after the cut-off date, this will be subject to availability AND incur a £20 admin fee. Bookings are subject to the Training Events Terms & Conditions.
If tickets sell out, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Waiting list places are not guaranteed, although we'll look to add more coaches and spaces if demand is there.
For any queries, please also email training.office@ilca.uk.
