ILCA Skills Week 2026 - WPNSA
Bookings will open in the Spring of 2026.
ILCA Skills Week - WPNSA
Our aims for the week are:
- Support sailors transitioning into ILCA from other classes.
- Support and develop sailors moving between ILCA rigs
- Offer an opportunity to train at a world class venue with fantastic coaches to all class members, of any age! To get the most of the training, sailors should have a minimum of club level racing experience.
- NEW 2026 - are you aspiring to be a Race Coach? During ILCA Skills Week, were offering a complete coach training package, including: RYA First Aid, RYA Safe and Fun, PB2 and Race Coach 2 - all the qualifications needed to become a Race Coach! Costs and more details will be finalised over the next few months.
The training is Saturday to Wednesday at WPNSA and offers a huge amount of flexibility in the schedule. As always, boat speed will be a large area of focus, along with advanced rigging and tuning, boat handling and racing. With five days of training, this offers a unique and great opportunity to embed new skills and techniques rather than talk and start the development phase that may happen at training weekends.
All coaches are ILCA specialists and work within the RYA and/or ILCA UK system at a high level. Their sailing skills are matched by their sparkling personalities which makes the learning a whole lot of fun! Sailors will be grouped by ability.
We will also have one social evening and one evening of Team Racing.
